Frequently Asked Questions
You Have Questions. We Have Answers!
Is all heating oil the same?
Contrary to public belief, not all heating oil is the same! Knowing the quality of the oil you’re purchasing will help ensure your home heating system operates efficiently for longer periods of time while requiring less maintenance. Only choose a provider that can ensure consistent quality, while maintaining efficient and sustainable Biodiesel ratio.
What is the difference between Full-Service and COD Oil Delivery?
Full-service oil has many benefits including customer support, automatic delivery, payment plans, optional budget plans, and a strong partnership with your oil provider. COD/Discount is just that – cash payment at the point of delivery. Wondering if full-service is right for you and your family? Compare and Contrast Full Service vs. COD and decide for yourself.
How does Automatic Delivery work?
Automatic oil delivery ensures the customer will receive an oil delivery before they run out, without having to make a request ahead of time. We use a digital monitoring system based on a degree-day calculation that factors in weather indicators and your estimated fuel consumption rate. When you start to run low, we deliver. Automatic Delivery customers qualify for a 5-cent discount per gallon if they pay within 10 days.
What is a “degree-day”?
Degree-day monitoring is a system used to calculate how much oil you use based on the temperature outside. The average temperature is taken for the 24-hour period, for example 28° F. That is subtracted from 65° F, to give you a degree day of 37. The higher the degree day, that more fuel you use.
What is BioHeat®?
BioHeat® is regular heating oil blended with 2-5% Biodiesel. Biodiesel is a renewable energy resource that is made domestically from fatty acids found in soy and vegetable oils, recycled restaurant oils, and other natural sources. BioHeat® burns cleaner, produces fewer emissions, and can extend the life of your equipment.
